Scores for week one

Eau Claire jumped out to a 17-0 lead early into the 2nd quarter before Menomonie knew what happened. Turnovers, penalties and a stout Crush defense killed Thunderhawks momentum in the second half. Late in the game Menomonie had their chances to cut into the lead or take the lead but a very good EC defense stuffed them twice inside the 10 yard line.

Overall, it was a good game played by both teams, but I'm sure the players and coaches have some work to do it they want to make the playoffs this season.

Gladiators 38 - Storm 10

A very slow paced game..took a long time for either team to get going and when it did get going...penalties on both sides killed the flow. Watching the game from the stands, it looked like each team was waiting for someone else to make "the Big play" Gladiators got those from #3 and it lifted the team. The Storm did have a couple of bright spots with very good play (in my opinion) by #13 &#34 on the defensive line. Sorry...didn't have a program to see who these #guys were. I do have to say that, I enjoyed the Storm's facility and atmosphere...just not the product I saw on the field (from either team). Hopefully each team improves in the next couple of weeks or it will be a long season for both. Best of luck to both the Gladiators & Storm.
